August was primary month in Kansas!
As the American elections start to ramp up, primaries for political parties happened in August, as well as an important referendum on the Kansas Constitution.
Unfortunately, neither of the Agreeland endorsed candidates for governor won their primaries:
- Ethan Corson, Agreeland’s selection for the Democratic primary only received 38.8% of the vote. Cindy Holscher was the winner with 48.6%. More on her later.
- Corson prevailed in two districts: Dodge and Barton, while Holscher won the others: Pratt, Sedgwick, Osage, Shawnee, Kansas City, and Kiikaapoa.
- Vicki Schmidt, Agreeland’s selection for the Republican primary only received 13.7% of the vote. Ty Masterson was the winner with 43.2%.
- Masterson won every district.
In a victory though, the Elections for Supreme Court Justices Amendment was soundly defeated with 61.4% of the vote. Although Agreeland never officially endorsed a position on this specific vote, this was the outcome preferred. The No vote won in Pratt, Barton, Sedgwick, Shawnee, and Kansas City. The Yes vote managed to win in Dodge, Kiikaapoa, and Osage.
Other than primary season, August was relatively quiet. Things began to pick up again in September as we prepare for the November elections.
Let’s talk endorsements for November.
Kansas Governor
Agreeland is proud to endorse Democratic candidate CINDY HOLSCHER for Kansas governor. Current governor Laura Kelly had also endorsed her after her primary victory. Holscher has proven that she can win the hearts of Kansans and will proudly defend Kansas from the harmful MAGA ideology that Masterson supports.

Kansas Representative in the American Senate
Agreeland is proud to endorse Democratic candidate ADAM HAMILTON for senator. Hamilton presents the best choice for Kansas to finally take back a seat in the American Senate from the harmful MAGA ideology that Roger Marshall supports. Agreeland did not support a candidate in the primaries for this race, but as Hamilton was shown to stand a chance against Marshall, Agreeland decides to join in to win. Hamilton is a Methodist pastor himself, and is trusted to use his connections to faith to benefit all Kansans.
